5303 Compilation

The 5303 course is designed to lay the foundation for constructing the ePortfolio we will build upon during our ADL program. Building this website has been challenging, but I am proud that I have produced my own website and created something I can showcase to my peers, colleagues, future employers, and even my students. I initially had two WordPress websites, but I found Wix was more user-friendly for me. The layout was easier to follow, I immediately knew how to use the buttons and input sources. Although this is an easier site for me, I am still working through a few challenges with linking different blog posts within the site.

This course has demonstrated the importance of a growth mindset. Often, I drive myself crazy trying to perfect something and become discouraged when it is not coming together as I have planned. Another challenge I had to overcome was comparing my work to others. Although I am an elementary school teacher, and we are known for being creative and colorful, I am sometimes not as creative as the "traditional primary education teacher." So as I browsed through my peers' websites, I was worried mine was not good enough. This course has taught me that even if I feel my work is not at its full potential, the best is yet to come. I must take the feedforward and constructive criticism, so I may adjust and edit as needed. This mindset will also help me in the classroom, because there will always be opportunities to adjust and do better, and I must instill this same mindset into my students. My journey is only just beginning and I am excited to see where the ADL program will lead me.

Over the course of 5303 and 5305 I have began collaborating with my peers. This is a summary and self reflection of my journey of learning to work with others to become successful in our courses by supporting one another.  I also discussed the strengths and weaknesses I have discovered in these first eight weeks, while also reflecting on what I can do better.

Here I have linked my blog posts that share reflections of what I have learned throughout my time in the ADL program so far. These posts have been created after completing readings, watching informational videos, and completing assignments for my courses.

This link is for all things innovation! I have provided my plans and research on how I will be implementing blended learning in my 3rd grade STEM classroom, and eventually throughout my campus and district. These documents will be edited during my time in the ADL course. Using the growth mindset, I will take the feedforward I receive from my instructors and peers to edit and make changes.

This post will discuss possessing a growth mindset and its importance in the classroom and also throughout life. We are meant to grow and change, and this is only possible if we welcome our growth. Education is ever changing and teachers, staff, students, and parents must adjust when needed.
