Developing a
Growth Mindset

Developing a growth mindset is essential to evolving as a lifelong learner. While utilizing a growth mindset, our views also change and develop. So in turn, our views on having a growth mindset may also change. While I still believe in everything I discussed in my initial growth mindset assignment in 5302, my opinions have continued to expand. Due to new resources becoming available and new information I am able to continue developing my position and find new ways to incorporate the growth mindset into my classroom.

Continuing to Grow

What other factors need to be considered if you wish to have an impact on the Growth Mindset?

  • Creating a significant learning environment

  • COVA- Choice, Ownership, Voice, and Authenticity

  • Grit

  • The “why”

  • Perseverance

(Harapnuik. 2021)

The growth mindset is a good start but is it enough?

The growth mindset is beneficial for students beginning their learning journey, although it will not be enough for students to be truly successful. We can not strictly think about the progress we would like to make and believe in ourselves; we must put in the work to ensure success.
