5389 Compilation
Course 5389 challenged us to develop effective professional learning opportunities. I found this to be one of the more laborious courses because I have not had to create any of the professional developments or criteria for cluster meetings I have led previously. While rigorous, I found this course to be one of the most meaningful because my ultimate goal after graduation is to transition out of the classroom teacher role and enter a facilitator role in professional development for educators. Within 5389 we had to produce a call to action that provided the importance of professional learning and cultivating a plan that would make implementing professional development easier. Combining these two assignments into one project was essential to providing educators with the why and how I plan to execute their learning. This professional development opportunity will allow educators to gather the necessary research and tools to make an informed decision on, will blended learning be beneficial to my classroom environment, students, and myself.

The Call to Action is a required aspect of my innovation plan because once I have completed the pilot program I will be presenting it to my colleagues. To convey my findings, I must present a professional development that will aide in their success implementing blended learning in their classroom environment. My professional learning will utilize the five key principles of effective PD, which ensures educators are receiving the proper support, training, and research to implement change. My ultimate goal is to make the time in our professional developments meaningful and immerse them in the same learning process they will expect their students to embrace. While some educators dread professional developments since many are presented lecture style, this will be more effective because these trainings are interactive and provide additional support.

Once I initiated my call to action and identified how and why I wanted to create my professional learning, I cultivated a plan to implement these trainings. This plan consisted of the tentative outline my pilot team and colleagues will follow, and the various resources and components of my plan. An important section of this plan is the use of Fink's 3 Column Table; this table was critical in identifying my big hairy audacious goal, activities, and how they will be assessed. The great part about the 3 Column Table is it can be presented to educators as well in an effort to organize their curriculum as they implement blended learning. This plan will see adjustments as needed throughout my innovation implementation based on self-reflections and data.

Schedule
This is a tentative schedule of the professional learning for educators beginning June of 2024. This schedule is a working document and will be adjusted and refined as needed. It will be provided to the mentoring team and educators taking part in the innovation project.
