It is common when people like something, they never want to try something different. For instance, ordering the same thing every time you go to a particular restaurant, coloring your toenails a certain color, or taking a walk on the same path every day. It can be scary to change the way we do things, but there is so much potential in evolving our way of thinking.
In my district, there is very little change, if anything, it becomes stricter with collecting data or ensuring each school is doing the exact thing. This cripples students’ creativity and motivation to learn. There is more of a focus on students memorizing the content we are presenting instead of giving them the opportunity to create and learn by doing. I believe the video we create for this class will help us reach the people “who like this stuff” (traditional learning) because we will be presenting the why of things instead of throwing the facts and data at them. This hopefully allows them to be more receptive to what we are trying to do in a more positive light, and eventually, convince them to come aboard.
